It didn’t take long for Prince Naseem’s son to show glimpses of his old man.
Aadam Hamed made his pro boxing debut on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois when he took on Vojtech Hrdy in Poland. Much of the talk pre-fight was about the significant size difference between the pair.
Hamed, who is the youngest son of boxing icon Prince Naseem, was too much for his 17-year-old opponent, winning in the very first round of his career.
While his father fought at bantamweight and featherweight, Hamed Jr’s debut was in the super welterweight division. And he dominated from the first second, making the opponent’s corner quickly throw in the towel.

Both fighters assumed the southpaw stance as Hrdy looked visibly worried by the threat of the young talent. During the short duration of the match, Hamed was able to show off some impressive footwork in a central position, landing several jabs as his opponent scurried around the ring.
He closed the range on Hrdy, who had nothing to offer in the way of resistance or counterattack other than an initial lateral movement. Hrdy eventually retreated into a corner to cover as Hamed unloaded a flurry of uppercuts.
And the towel was thrown in by the underdog’s corner as he sank to the mat. Meanwhile, Prince Naseem, who has branded his youngest son a “future star”, looked confident in the crowd rather than in his son’s corner.
Aadam has yet to falter in public despite all the hype associated with his name. He trained at McCracken’s Gym in Birmingham in preparation for his debut, with the gym also used by former Watford star Troy Deeney.
The youngster regularly uploads videos and photos of his training on Instagram, showing off his ripped body and amazing speed from sparring sessions.
Aadam, whose older brother Sami Hamed also had aspirations of turning professional, said in the post-fight interview: “It was my first fight ever. Not just my pro debut.
“It was a blessing to be here in front of everyone. Thanks to my beautiful mom, my beautiful dad.
“What a night man. I felt like I set up and it’s only going to get bigger and better from here.
“I believe in myself and my ability. I’m not here to participate, I’m here to take over. Remember that.”
