It didn’t take long for Prince Naseem’s son to show glimpses of his old man.

Aadam Hamed made his pro boxing debut on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois when he took on Vojtech Hrdy in Poland. Much of the talk pre-fight was about the significant size difference between the pair.

Hamed, who is the youngest son of boxing icon Prince Naseem, was too much for his 17-year-old opponent, winning in the very first round of his career.

While his father fought at bantamweight and featherweight, Hamed Jr’s debut was in the super welterweight division. And he dominated from the first second, making the opponent’s corner quickly throw in the towel.

Both fighters assumed the southpaw stance as Hrdy looked visibly worried by the threat of the young talent. During the short duration of the match, Hamed was able to show off some impressive footwork in a central position, landing several jabs as his opponent scurried around the ring.

He closed the range on Hrdy, who had nothing to offer in the way of resistance or counterattack other than an initial lateral movement. Hrdy eventually retreated into a corner to cover as Hamed unloaded a flurry of uppercuts.

And the towel was thrown in by the underdog’s corner as he sank to the mat. Meanwhile, Prince Naseem, who has branded his youngest son a “future star”, looked confident in the crowd rather than in his son’s corner.
